Why String the Needles? It is often said that trying to find information within organizations these days is like trying to find needles in a haystack.
String the Needles is dedicated to original inquiry into enterprise information architecture and related fields, providing concepts, tools and insights geared at the goal of retrieving needles of information - key information assets and business intelligence - from within the thorny enterprise haystack of content management systems and databases. Within the framework of the DIKW Pyramid, needles of data can be transformed into useful information artifacts only if they are strung together well. Knowledge that is shared explicitly becomes information once again. True knowledge can only be tacit or implicit. The blogs, articles and artifacts shared on this site are aimed at providing some of the missing ingredients for a mature information management practice, supported by a greater intertwining of the information TAG-team: Technology, Architecture, and Governance.
